Great Product So Far!
These piezos are much better than the mass-produced products from China in my opinion, with heavier wiring & better soldering. I did have one wire break so far, but UFO Drums sent a replacement as soon as I mentioned it to them. I seem to be pretty hard on the piezos inside my Alesis edrum snare & have gone through a number of the Chinese-made ones. However, based on the better soldering & heavy duty wire of the ones sold on UFO Drums, I’m optimistic that I will no longer be replacing the piezo in my snare twice a month.

Did you know...
Piezo-electricity is the ability of crystals to generate a voltage in response to applied mechanical stress. The word is derived from the Greek piezein, which means to squeeze or press.
In a piezoelectric crystal, the positive and negative electrical charges are separated, but symmetrically distributed, so that the crystal overall is electrically neutral. When a stress is applied, this symmetry is disturbed, and the charge asymmetry generates a voltage. A 1 cm cube of quartz with 500 lb (2 kN) of correctly applied pressure upon it, can produce 12,500 V of electricity.
